ABOUT THE CHEF
Chef Brett August grew up in Goshen, NY, a small picturesque town in Orange County. His earliest memories were spent in the kitchen preparing and enjoying food with his grandmother, mother and sisters. Brett's parents encouraged him to pursue his goal of being a chef and helped him further his education in and out of the kitchen. After completing his culinary education, he worked his way from cleaning lettuce to running some of New York City's finest and cutting edge restaurants such as: The Breslin, Wichcraft and Bouley. In addition, he was one of ten contestants on Food Network's The Next Food Network Star: Season Five. After 17 years in the kitchen, Brett transitioned into selling food to chefs and restaurants in & around NYC. His role at The Chef's Warehouse has enabled him to further his passion for food by selling and inspiring great chefs with top-of-the-line food products. Earlier this year, Brett and his wife Allison (a consummate foodie and his personal sommelier) opened a specialty general store in Barryville, NY called August Acres. "The store allows us to provide our friends and neighbors the same restaurant quality foods I sell to my chefs in New York City" says August. "I'm living my dream and having the time of my life. I look forward to feeding you."
